1.1      The ARESS Contech Structural Insulated Panel Building System is an exterior and interior wall system, installed typically on an insulated concrete slab on grade, utilizing a combination of skins and insulation incorporated into a sandwich construction, using top and bottom treated timber plates and timber studs.

1.2      These walls are suited for the construction of a roof truss fixed on top of the top plates (or cap).

1.3 Interior linings and exterior cladding systems may be attached by way of cavity battens installed over either a flexible air barrier or, in the case of a direct-applied render system to the exterior, the selected system is applied directly to the prepared exterior SIP surface.

1.4    The ARESS Contech Structural Insulated Panel Building System is to be applied by persons trained and approved by ARESS Contech (Pty) Ltd, within the scope and limitations described in the Appraisal-holder’s Technical Manual.
