Review of Performance of the RibRaft Floor System which is subject to a  CodeMark Application: Surviellance Results - especially the effects of liquification in Canterbury

Some BCAs have requested a copy of the report on the Surveillance carried out on the Firth RibRaft Floor System - for which a CodeMark certificate is being sought - following the earthquakes in Canterbury, on residential properties that were built using the RibRaft Floor System.

Background
In 2009 BEAL applied to JAS-ANZ to become a Building Product Certifying Body as per S261 of the Building Act 2004. Subsequently Firth Industries made an application to BEAL for a CodeMark for their RibRaft Floor System, for which their previous accreditation was considered out of date.

On completion of the Evaluation Plan it was a requirement that a Surveillance be carried out to ensure the continuous performance of the installed product. This resulted in an audit of supplies, manufacture, distribution and in-service performance - primarily in the Canterbury Region since there had been at least two significant seismic events.

Result
1. Compliance
From the evidence provided by the company making the application, compliance with the requirements described in the (surveillance) Standard have been complied with.
2. Field Assessment
Inspection of the applicant’s documents, computerised monitoring and management systems, typical plant documentation, and visits to residential properties built with the applicant’s product, all demonstrate an active and continuous implementation of the BPQP.
3. Instances of in-service Non-conformance.
No instances of non-conformance were reported.
